Corporate Vision:

The name Ipco® is the embodiment of our corporate vision wherewith the concept and aim, with which the Companies began operations, continue to flourish. 

The Companies, from the beginning, aimed to produce quality products that were conceived to foster and sustain human values of health, gainful employment, clean environment and dignity of labour. 

Background:

Asha Industries was formed on 17-9-1958, when Shri Indubhai Patel felt the need to fill a void in the market by introducing good quality Ipco Creamy Snuff, to be used like toothpaste and wean away the consumer from the ill-effects of smoking and chewing tobacco, without losing taste of tobacco. And several years later Shree Santram Gruh Udyog evolved, presenting Ipco Snuff to be used as a dentifrice in a slightly modified version. The two companies, together worked with more concerted efforts towards confirming our Corporate mission.

Tobacco Facts:

To this end we have conducted research into the plant of tobacco, and the various applications of the tobacco leaf. The universal use of tobacco in its differing uses provided interesting insights into the value of tobacco, including its uses and misuses. 

We examined the lifestyles and health standards of the people, especially their awareness of oral health. Then we analysed nicotine, its presence and value in modern medicine. 

We found that the use of nicotine as a stimulant adopted socially and hygienically unclean forms of consumption such as smoking and chewing tobacco leading to hazardous and often fatal side effects. But we were committed to a socially acceptable and a therapeutic or health-oriented application of the plant leaves. Eventually we also identified in ancient Ayurvedic texts, such as the Charak Samhita, the centuries old ingredients that, in combination, heightened the curative properties of tobacco. Tobacco has been rated the best antibiotic and gives relief from mouth diseases like pyorrhea, bleeding gums and help in gastric problems.

The result is Ipco Snuff & Ipco Creamy Snuff, pure and pristine in their wholesome quality.

Business:

For the last 40 years, we have cultivated our own variety of tobacco in the organically tilled fields of Charotar, in Gujarat.

From Ipco headquarters in Nadiad in Gujarat, where fully-fledged modern infrastructure, including the best communication and data processing tools, telecom and internet connectivity, along with expert service back-up, have enabled the Companies to maintain a splendid track record by building customer loyalty and developing a growing dealer network of distributors and dealers in almost every major metropolis, innumerable, densely populated towns, new townships, new States, and important villages on arterial highways.

Our transportation and logistic nexus is well organised and ensures a countrywide presence of our products as well as easy availability.

Quality:

In keeping with our Company aims, we maintain a system of monitoring the manufacture of our products in five stages:

  • Examining the fields where tobacco is grown

  • Ensuring the quality of tobacco leaves

  • Sourcing pure ingredients and ensuring their controlled measure of miscibility

  • Monitoring manufacture and the end product, and lastly

  • Provide modern packing according to requirement

Our relations with our Customers evolves from our attitude to them, i.e. what the customer means to us: 

Ipco User : our real user, that is the one who confirms the validity and value of our product, and 
one who suggests advantageous features, and  availability of product in new areas.

Social Commitments:

Ipco is a part of the society in which we flourish and succeed. The local inhabitants, including the personnel who work for us, are one large community where the values cherished by us and incorporated in our corporate vision find realisation and fulfilment.

Ipco acknowledge the community’s response to our commitment by supporting our infrastructure and our entity, and have initiated extensive philanthropic activities such as adopting whole villages, constructing medical centres, schools & colleges to meet social obligations and fulfill a corporate commitment to the town, the society and the milieu that have sustained the growth of our Company.
